Independent Investigation Commission will contribute to the Global Council on Nuclear Security of WEF


Dr Funabashi, chairman of the RJIF and the program director of the Independent Investigation Commission of the Fukushima Nuclear Accident, became a member of the Global Agenda council on Nuclear Security of the World Economic Forum. Established in 2008, the Network of Global Agenda Councils is an knowledge network composed of 80 councils focusing on specific issues. The Global Council on Nuclear Security is spin-off from the Global Agenda Council on Nuclear, Biological & Chemical Weapons, in a response to the increasing concerns over nuclear security in the wake of Fukushima nuclear accident. The council’s first meeting will be held in Dubai this coming November.
