The International House of Japan (IHJ), in collaboration with the Chey Institute for Advanced Studies, will host a conference on the theme of “Japan-Korea Economic Cooperation.”
Since the normalization of diplomatic relations in 1965, economic cooperation between Japan and South Korea has played a crucial role in supporting bilateral relations, despite the various challenges and changes over time. In the face of shared issues such as the destabilization of the free trade system, stagnation in growth drivers, and the ongoing energy crisis, closer economic cooperation is now more essential than ever.
This conference will focus on two key areas of cooperation that are advancing at the private sector level: 1. The startup ecosystem, and 2. Economic security. Experts from both Japan and South Korea will join to discuss concrete strategies for achieving sustainable mutual development.
