On September 20, 2024, Asia Pacific Initiative (API) held a roundtable with Prof. Perry Link. Prof. Link is Chancellorial Chair for Teaching Across Disciplines, University of California, Riverside.

The event featured a discussion with API experts on contemporary Chinese society. During the roundtable, we began by exploring the complexity of modern Chinese society from a historical perspective. The discussion touched on various dimensions of Chinese society, including inequality, economic growth, and education. The event deepened participants’ understanding of both the challenges and potential within contemporary China, as well as its broader impact on the international community.
