On July 9th, an article written by RJIF researcher Sophie Knight on a new kind of disaster housing developed by Japanese prefabricated house maker Daiwa Lease and architect Shigeru Ban was published in online business magazine Quartz. Titled “Japanese prefab tiny homes could change the way we think about disaster housing”, the article was the third in a series RJIF is publishing as a result of its research project into Japan’s contemporary living environment and emerging lifestyles.
