Asia Pacific Initiative (API), in partnership with Asia Society, held an online event on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, titled “The Fukushima Disaster 10 Years On: Lessons to Never Forget,” joined by Dr. Funabashi, Professor Suzuki and Mr. Shiozaki.

 

 

Discussion with Daniel Russel, Vice President for International Security and Diplomacy at the Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI), varied from US-Japan cooperation in the disaster and crisis communication, to comparisons of governmental response to the nuclear accident to its response to COVID19.

The Ten-Year Investigation Commission on the Fukushima Nuclear Accident published a final report “The Ten-Year Investigation Commission on the Fukushima Nuclear Accident: Final Report” (Fukushima gempatsu jiko 10nen kensho iinkai: minkan jikocho saishu hokokusho[In Japanese]) in February.
